Mike Daly is a filmmaker, video artist and creative technologist, and is creative director at digital design studio Grumpy Sailor in Sydney. His award-winning work includes interactive gallery installations, VR experiences, 360º films, performance visuals, projection mapping, installation video and traditional films.

After developing a career as a visual effects compositor and motion graphics designer, Mike became a TV commercial director, working on large-scale projects in Iceland, Mexico, Italy, France, Germany, the UK, Thailand, New Zealand and Australia.

He has also worked extensively with artists and cultural institutions, including the State Library of NSW, Sydney Dance Company, Sydney Theatre Company, Sydney Opera House, Melbourne Museum and Ballet de Lorraine in France.

Mike’s work has won numerous awards, such as the interactive film he wrote & directed for Google, Through the Dark, which received over fifty accolades including seven Cannes Lions. His projects have been selected for Prix Ars Electronica, Cannes Film Festival, SXSW and many other creative festivals.
