Mike Daly is a creative director, filmmaker, video artist and creative technologist, living in Sydney on the lands of the Gadigal and Wangal peoples. His award-winning work includes interactive gallery installations, VR experiences, 360º films, performance visuals, projection mapping, immersive installation video and traditional films.
After developing a career as a visual effects compositor and motion graphics designer, Mike became a TV commercial director, working on large-scale projects in Iceland, Mexico, Italy, France, Germany, the UK, New Zealand and Australia.
He has also worked extensively with artists and cultural institutions, including the State Library of NSW, Sydney Dance Company, Sydney Theatre Company, Sydney Opera House, Museums Victoria and Ballet de Lorraine in France.
For eighteen months, until August 2020, Mike was creative director of the digital design studio Grumpy Sailor, leading large-scale innvovative projects for major cultural instuitions, such as ACMI, Melbourne Museum, Sydney Living Museums and Google Arts & Culture.
Mike’s work has been highly awarded, winning gold at Cannes Lions, D&AD, Ciclope, the Webby Awards, the Good Design Awards and more. His projects have been selected for Prix Ars Electronica, Cannes Film Festival, SXSW and many other creative festivals.
